Oklahoma Republican Congressman Kevin Hern joins Fox Across America With guest host Paul Gleiser to share his reaction to White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre claiming President Biden has “done the work” to deal with the crisis happening at our Southern border.
“We’re seeing 8 to 10,000 a day crossing. The Customs and Border Protection agents are expecting that to increase to 13 to 15, 000 per day. So 3 to 400,000 per month. And back in February, I led a letter of about 50 Republicans to ask Homeland Security Secretary Mayorkas to resign because he was doing a terrible job. We actually asked him to come to the Capitol for a hearing. He did, and I asked him specifically about his job performance. And he said the border is secure. That was in the first part of March. And here we are just this week, a group of us on the grounds of the Capitol call for his impeachment. And it’s just miraculous that yesterday he put a six point plan together, went to the border to see what was going on, and now they’re going to look at trying to fix the border. It’s amazing how when you start calling for somebody to be impeached, that they actually start doing their job?” Rep. Hern also lays out some of the top GOP priorities for the next Congress.
