Representative Kevin Hern (OK-01) released the following statement after voting against a short-term bill to fund the government through next week.

“Short-term CRs are a failure of leadership,” said Rep. Hern. “The longer we put off the hard work of writing a real budget – and sticking to it – the harder it will be to get back on track. The American people elected a Republican Congress with a clear mandate: stop the spending before it’s too late. We need to take back the purse strings as soon as possible; the Democrats’ omnibus subverts the will of the people and locks in absurd spending levels through the end of the fiscal year. This is not what democracy looks like!”
