Representative Kevin Hern (OK-01) released the following statement after the Bureau of Labor Statistics released the Consumer Price Index for June, showing inflation is 9.1% higher than last year and wages are down 4.8% since the start of Biden’s presidency.  

“Inflation continues to ravage American consumers and families,” said Rep. Hern. “The Biden Administration keeps breaking all the wrong records, but refuses to connect the dots between their reckless policies and rampant inflation. While the official number is 9.1%, the goods and services that Americans rely on most – food, fuel, and utilities – are all exponentially higher. True inflation is much worse than what the numbers show. In spite of all this, Democrats are preparing to increase inflationary pressures with drastic tax hikes and a revived ‘Build Back Broke’ plan. Democrat control of the federal government has failed the American people.”
