Representative Kevin Hern (OK-01) released the following statement after the House voted in favor of the Senate Amendment to HR 2157.

“After a brutal two weeks of tornadoes and flooding, the people of Oklahoma are in desperate need of our help,” said Rep. Kevin Hern. “This disaster aid package will help those in our country and my district who have experienced the worst and need the relief that this funding provides. I have heard stories and seen firsthand the destruction that these storms and floods have done to our community and this funding will directly benefit those affected.”

Background:

The Senate Amendment to HR 2157, the Supplemental Appropriations Act of 2019, allocates $19.1 billion in assistance for several natural disasters in fiscal years 2017 – 2019.
