Representative Kevin Hern (OK-01) released the following statement in response to today’s report that the United States’ Gross Domestic Product (GDP) shrank at a 1.4% annual rate during the 1^st Quarter of the 2022 Fiscal Year.

“This is the Biden economy,” said Rep. Hern.  “After 14 months of aggressive spending and a dwindling economy, there is no one left to blame. Rising prices, falling consumer confidence, and a shrinking GDP are all consequences of the Democrat agenda. There is no accountability, no remorse from the people responsible for destroying the livelihoods of millions of Americans. Joe Biden’s rhetoric and policies are wrecking what was the greatest economy in the history of the world just a few years ago. 

Rep. Hern continued, “Either it’s incompetence or it’s intentional, with the goal of fundamentally reshaping our country from a capitalist one to a socialist one. I thank God that we have the opportunity in November to stop them before it’s too late.”
