Hern Votes to Reopen Government

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Kevin Hern (OK-01) released the following statement after voting for the amended Continuing Resolution (CR) to end the Democrat-led shutdown and reopen the government:

“For 43 days, Democrats in Congress held government funding hostage at the expense of the American people. Back on September 17th, House Republicans passed a clean CR to keep the government open. Since then, we have remained committed to having an open government so our troops and federal employees can receive their paychecks, SNAP recipients can put food on their tables, and efficient air travel can be restored. Passage of today’s CR ends the disastrous Democrat Shutdown, and now House Republicans can get back to work delivering real results for hardworking families."
