Hern slams Biden’s tax-and-spend agenda

Representative Kevin Hern (OK-01) released a statement condemning the exorbitant framework for Biden and Congressional Democrats’ deficit-soaring spending plan.

Senate Democrats announced an overall topline of $3.5 trillion to pass Biden’s legislative priorities using the budget reconciliation process. Including the $1 trillion package a bipartisan group of senators are drafting and the $1.9 trillion passed under the reconciliation process earlier this year, Democrats are on track to spend nearly $6.5 trillion in addition to regular government spending.

“American families are suffering under the worst economic crisis in over a decade, and the Biden Administration’s response is to spend more, tax more, and push the burden even further onto the American people,” said Rep. Hern. “When I look at this $3.5 trillion disaster, I see a blatant disregard for American taxpayers. I see hollow grandstanding and fake urgency. Democrat leaders have turned their backs on governing and embraced unprecedented partisanship, redefining terms to mean whatever serves their current purpose and co-opting the mainstream media so no one holds them accountable.

Rep. Hern continued, “I knew from the start that Democrats were never serious about a bipartisan approach to infrastructure. Pelosi said she wouldn’t consider any bipartisan package until the Senate also passed the one-sided reconciliation bill. If the future of a so-called bipartisan bill is reliant on this $3.5 trillion boondoggle, there is no longer anything bipartisan about it. The rate of spending in the last 18 months should concern every American. We must hold these grifters accountable and start focusing on our debt problem before it’s too late.”

While Congressional Democrats have already used the budget reconciliation process this year, they have yet to draft an actual budget.  Rep. Hern introduced his budget in May, expected to be the only real budget introduced to Congress this year.
