Representative Kevin Hern (OK-01) released the following statement after the President delivered the State of the Union address in the United States Capitol Building.

“As the President indicated, we have a lot to celebrate. 2018 was a banner year for the economy,” said Rep. Hern. “Unemployment in just about every category is at its lowest in decades. Jobs numbers continue to rise. This kind of strength reinforces the priorities the President set forth at the beginning of his administration and stresses the necessity of maintaining these pro-growth policies.

“His message of unity and cooperation tonight was one that I think every person in this country can take to heart. It’s time to heal these deep political divides and celebrate the things that hold us together rather than the things that tear us apart. There are many issues of national importance that have bipartisan support in Congress, such as fixing our crumbling infrastructure, lowering the costs of healthcare and prescription medicines, bringing steady jobs with good wages back to our country, and keeping our people safe from harm. The President is committed to finding solutions to these issues, and I stand with him, ready to work together to get these problems solved.”
