Hern announces commencement of 2021 student art competition

Representative Kevin Hern (OK-01) announced the commencement of the 2021 Congressional Art Competition. The Congressional Art competition is a nationwide annual art competition that allows high school students from all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and U.S. territories to showcase their artistic ability. The winning piece of art from each Congressional district is displayed in an eleven-month exhibit in the Cannon tunnel that leads into the U.S. Capitol.

“It’s a real joy to discover all of the artistic talent from our district,” said Rep. Hern. “Seeing all the beautiful art pieces that are submitted, and then seeing the winner as I walk to and from the House floor is a warm reminder of home that I cherish. I wish all the artists well and can’t wait to see what entries we get this year.”

This year’s theme is “Explore Scenic Oklahoma: The natural features and attractions that make Oklahoma uniquely beautiful.” The deadline for entries is April 10th. Please visit here, or contact the Tulsa District Office at 918-935-3222 and ask to speak with the Art Competition Coordinator for any questions.
