Representative Kevin Hern (OK-01) released the following statement after U.S. Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick passed away from injuries sustained during the attack on the U.S. Capitol Building. “The United States Capitol Police put their lives on the line to protect my colleagues, my staff, members of the press, and myself on Wednesday,” said Rep. Hern. “Officer Brian Sicknick gave his life to ensure the safety of our government while a violent mob attacked and invaded the Capitol. His sacrifice will never be forgotten. John 15:13 says, ‘Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.’ Officer Sicknick not only gave his life for friends and colleagues, but thousands of people who work in the Capitol that he’s never even met. There is no greater courage or symbol of loyalty to our country than that. I offer my deepest condolences to Officer Sicknick’s family and his brothers- and sisters-at-arms on the U.S.C.P force.” ### |
