I’m working on several pieces of legislation that are aimed at helping and honoring our vets. Here are some highlights of some of my recent work:
H.R. 1298 – Legislation renaming the Owasso Post Office after late Sgt. Marshal Roberts.
H.R. 1695 - To remove the prohibition on eligibility for TRICARE Reserve Select of members of the reserve components of the Armed Forces who are eligible to enroll in a health benefits plan under chapter 89 of title 5, United States Code.
H.R. 707 – “The Ghost Army Congressional Gold Medal Act” - A bill to award a Congressional Gold Medal to the 23d Headquarters Special Troops and the 3133d Signal Service Company in recognition of their unique and distinguished service as a "Ghost Army" that conducted deception operations in Europe during World War II.
H.R.1448 – “PAWS for Veterans Therapy Act” - This bill implements a program and a policy related to service dog therapy for veterans. Specifically, the bill requires the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to implement a five-year pilot program to assess the effectiveness of addressing post-deployment mental health and post-traumatic stress disorder through a method where veterans train service dogs for veterans with disabilities.
