Hern to bring Tulsa County DA as guest to the State of the Union

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Representative Kevin Hern (OK-01) announced his guest for tonight’s State of the Union, Tulsa County District Attorney Steve Kunzweiler. Kunzweiler, a career prosecutor dedicated to protecting Tulsa County, remains outspoken on the deadly impact that fentanyl is having on our community.

“As we grapple with surging crime rates, the deadly influx of fentanyl, and rampant illegal immigration, DA Steve Kunzweiler and his team are on the front lines experiencing the devastating consequences of Joe Biden’s failed policies,” said Rep. Hern. “Make no mistake: the Biden Administration’s failure to secure the border, is claiming American lives at an alarming rate. Every American community, including Tulsa, is imperiled by these crises.”

Background:

Earlier this year, Attorney General Gentner Drummond testified before the House Homeland Security Committee that the failures of the Biden Administration to secure the nation’s southwest border are seriously endangering public safety in Oklahoma. According to the Tulsa County District Attorney’s Office, fentanyl prosecutions have doubled in 2023. There have been 8.7 million illegal crossings nationwide and 1.8 million known gotaways who have evaded U.S. Border Patrol.

President Joseph R. Biden Jr. will give his State of the Union Address at 9:00 p.m. ET and can be viewed HERE.
